This demo comprises 13 slides in total together with comments at the bottom of each slide.
The main differences between the SINGLE-QUANTITY (SQ) and the new MULTI-QUANTITY (MQ) versions are :
in the SQ version the stock code broken down into 10 colours by 10 sizes matrix to show a carton quantity. However, for stock control purposes only ONE quantity is used ie. the total . In SQ it is not possible to enquire eg. code ABC123 how many pcs are in stock for a given colour/size
in the MQ version (new) : the matrix is now for ONE colour and upto 10 sizes (you can use this for other purposes eg. instead of size use colours...). The stock control is maintained for 10 quantities eg. it is possible to enquire how many pcs are in stock for item ABC123 size 10...
Advantages of MQ over SQ : if you deal in pieces as opposed to carton ratios : MQ is simple & offers greater functionality. In a typical Line50 stock situation a style with 10 sizes requires 10 stock codes, Sonal stock achieves this with ONE code. Further, SOP & POP allocations are available for these 10 quantities.
In both SOP the SQ system is geared to allocations, delivery, invoicing against the FULL order. Where there are part deliveries or deliveries at different dates , the SOPs need to be recreated or separated. In the new MQ system, the action is against the transactions eg. raise SOP for multiple items each with different delivery date, selectively deliver any individual item, consolidate deliveries into single invoice at say end of week...
