Because your business doesn’t have a full-time computer staff, Small Business Server is designed to keep you running without all the drudgery of constant monitoring and maintenance. Everything you need is contained in the Small Business Server console.
The Small Business Server console presents tasks to you in everyday language. Anyone with a bit of computer experience can choose from the logically organized categories and tasks.
When you choose a Complete installation, all the components you need to communicate and run your network are set up automatically when you install Small Business Server. That means no extra fine-tuning to get your server up and running. You can go ahead and connect your users to your network.
Once you have Small Business Server installed, you’ll occasionally need to perform administrator duties — for example, when you hire a new employee, buy a new workstation computer to add to your network, or add new equipment such as a printer or modem.
The Small Business Server console and wizards make maintenance fast and easy. See Chapter 4, “Getting Started with Small Business Server,” for an overview of how to manage your server computer. See other chapters in this book to manage specific components of Small Business Server.
